These changes strengthened the Broadland Team at 1 & 5 strings, where Sam & Cathy Cramer were able to register 3-0 wins. In the middle order the matches were closely contested, but with the Broadland players managing to clinch all of the games that went to 2 clear points, all matches went the way of the Broadland players giving a rather flattering 20-2 final score. Richard Barnes's effort in saving 5 game balls in the 4th game against a very energetic Toby Cole, almost certainly ensured he avoided defeat to his youthful opponent in the 5th, by clinching the match 17/15 in the 4th.
