Report: | With no. Division 3 for Broadland 4 to play in this season, most of the matches are expected to be a tough ask, and so it proved. 2's and 3's were on court first, and with the visitors greater playing experience giving them the edge they gained 2 x 3-0 wins. Both Broadland players reached tie breaks, providing evidence that on another day they may have at least got a game. Steve Robinson in particular grew into his match from a nervous start, and was actually unlucky not to pinch the third, losing it 14-16.
Paul Chase, getting younger each season, followed at 4 with a similar story but played a blinder in the third with his attacking shots coming off, and playing the right shots at the right time to pull out a commanding lead in the middle of the game for the Teams first point. Elliot took back control in the fourth to gain a 3-1 win for the visitors, but an encouraging and confidence building performance from Paul.
Following 2 call offs this week due to injury and illness, Richard Barnes stepped for his second match in 2 days, and had the closest tussle with Ben, coming out on top 3-2 for Broadland's first win. Luckily he was more than happy with the same match Meal 2 days in a row, although there was a slight variation with the dessert.
Always a dessert at Broadland you know.
Seriously though, all matches were played in a great sporting spirit with several sporting calls from both home and visiting players. A superb night all round in good company..
