Report: Camaraderie and Good Health

A great night enjoyed by all at Bannatyne’s last night, where even the chairman let down his hair.

Last nights match saw the Banners Boys continue their undefeated start to the season with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over East Anglia II. That score line didn’t look achievable after the first four games of the evening however, as number four, Max Dawson had gone down 2-0 down to a very good Jules Crew, who looked like an extremely handy player at a surprisingly low number 4. Whilst on the other court, Number 5 Liam BANGER Baines was tied 1-1 with Nigel Gillock and the nerves of the undefeated Banner’s Boys were being tested. Banger Baines then went on to seal the match 3-1 to give the boys some hope, despite Digger Dawson slumping to a 3-0 loss.

Next up was Kevin WONDERHORSE Harvey against a top class opponent in Gary Snelling. Gary managing to sneak the third game in an otherwise straight forward 3-1 victory for the undefeated Baker. However, he is still looking to bake his first bagel.

On the other court Number 2, Ali Dawson took on a very agile Andrew Trim. Ali got off to a good start and went 5-Zip up. The Duke managed to keep up the high intensity and broke down the league chairman with relative ease, cruising to a 3-0, 13/9, 13/9, 13/9 victory.

Finally, the last match of the evening saw an extremely fit pair take to the court in Number 1 Jordan THE ASSASSIN Creed and Ashley Briggs. This match had every expectation of a marathon, however this was not the case as Jordan sealed a 3-0 victory in the space of 20 minutes. His teammates put this down to his shark like focus throughout.

Overall a great night for the Banners Boys who are still not favourites to win the league.
