Report: | Two teams missing key players still produced an entertaining and competitive match. Wesley had too much experience for Billy, who had been called up from Loddon's 3s, at No. 4, and Dale and Albie enjoyed a tight five-setter, with Dale rolling back the years to come back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and keep the match alive going into the last two matches. At number 2, Mark pushed Neil a bit harder than he did in the corresponding fixture before eventually going down 3-2 and at 1, Ben very nearly took the first against the ever-reliable Paul, losing that12-10. That first game took it out of Ben, and he never really recovered, losing 3-0. We retired to the balcony for some home-cooked chilli, which everybody seemed to enjoy. As always, thanks to the Barnham Broom lads for their company, which was most agreeable. |
