Report: | Loddon/Harleston got back to winning ways with a comprehensive 4-0 (16-4) defeat of Potters Misfits, in a night that encapsulated all that is great about the lower levels of Norfolk League squash with a 53 year age gap between the youngest and oldest players on show. Sam McCluskey got the home team off to a great start with a 3-1 win over Rob Sherington, who appeared to to still feeling the effects of a boozy stag weekend in Munich. At number 4, Mike Earrye fought back from the loss of the fist game beat Bev Todd 3-1 also. Olly Bickley never looked in trouble against the veteran Pieter Botha, dropping just 8 points over their three games. Match of the night came at the top of the order as Mark Heazle recorded his second consecutive 3-2 win, this time against Stuart Supple. Despite being 2-1 up, Heazle faced match balls in the fifth, which he saved, before going on to win 14-12. All enjoyed sausage and mash and a cold beer in the White Horse afterwards. |
