Report: | At no.3 Marcus Noakes showed some improved form during the first 3 games to take a 2-1 lead. To be honest though he was helped by Claires continued desire to play her drop shots into the tin. The fourth was tight, but with Marcus starting to tire, and Claire abandoning her attempted drop shots, she was able to take it to level the match at 2-2. Marcus was now spent, and Claire ripped through the last game with the loss of only 2 points, and even managed a perfectly controlled drop into the front right corner along the way.
At 2 and 4, Pete Harris and Peter Ireland for Diss, were too strong for the relative racketball newcomers Ian Sneddon and Gavin Tempest, both winning 3-0 to clinch the tie. With Mark Woolner calling off at late notice, Jake Bond stood in at late notice to record Broadlands only match win.
All matches played in a great spirit, on a very pleasant evening.
