Report: | This evenings entertainment continued after closing when I left the club in pitch black darkness to get my car, & walked straight into Williams Vauxhall Meriva. I smashed my nose & mouth on the roof, & dropped my shoping bag. My jar of gherkins smashed, but fortunately the jar of beetroot somehow survived. I returned to the club where William assisted with the clean up campaign.
Sore thismorning, but nothing broken except the gherkins & what little pride I have left.
Meanwhile, earlier that night Will & Ian provided a relentless barrage of exhibition shots in their match. Will's new found speed around the court carrying him to a 3 -0 win. Sam's varied match focus was matched by Tom H's relentless barrage of bazooka's to earn a hard fought & well deserved 3-2 win for Tom. Matt H met Tom B stroke for stroke, but slightly better movement, consistency & error rate gave Tom the narrow edge throughout. 3-0 to Tom B. In the deciding match with Harry leading Steve 2-0, it looked an odds on Diss win. Steve however continued his comeback from 2 year lay-off to take the last 3 games for another welldeserved & hard fought 3-2 win, to produce a draw and final match score of 10-10.
Looks like it could be a very close & competitive League this winter.
Well done all, I hope you all had better luck getting home safely than I eventually did. |
